Before you reach for the coffee or tea in the morning, start your day with conscious awareness! Set the tone with some form of connection to your physical body. Support your body in moving from a sleep state into conscious waking awareness. This can be as simple as taking a few conscious breaths, consciously feeling your feet touching the floor or sitting for a moment becoming aware of your physical body.
In the order that works best for you:
Have a glass of lemon water.
Take 10+ minutes in meditation, prayer or silent reflection.
Set your intentions for the day. What you plan to do, your attitude in doing it and a general intent for the day to flow with grace and ease.
Move your body, whether that be stretching, walking, yoga or a more formal type of exercise.
Feed your body with good nutrition. I like to start with a healthy smoothie of fruits and vegetables.
Begin your day with grounded presence by creating awareness of your mind/body connection, connect with your spirit or higher power, acknowledge your physical body with nutrition and movement, set your energetic intention to flow through your day.
