We have all heard of Spring-cleaning, where we give our house a thorough cleaning. Clearing the clutter and doing a deep cleaning is very beneficial, but why not take it a step further and energetically clear your space! Clearing your home or office has many reported benefits including feeling refreshed, open for new opportunities, sharpen mental focus, increased productivity, and feeling more settled with less anxiety. Start by physically cleaning your home or office. Clear the general clutter.
Gather your tools of white sage or incense. If the scent bothers you, use a bell or chime, salt water spray or aromatherapy as a tool of support.
Choose a sunny day when you can take time to give attention to shifting the space to be open and clear.
1) Set Intention
Center yourself by intending to release fear and blocked energy from your body. Focus on your breathe for a few moments to get centered and clear on your intention. Feel a sense of groundedness and call in the flow of your own positive intention for clearing yourself and your space. With the focus of your mind, set the intention to clear any stagnant energy, letting go of anything that no longer serves you or your family or your clients.
2) Use Your Tools
Light the sage stick in a fireproof bowl or shell, blow out the flame leaving a small stream of smoke. Walk through each room with the sage, allowing the smoke to move throughout the room including the corners. Watch for falling embers! Repeat your intention for clearing with each room. Take your time, do this slowly and with focused intention on clearing. Place remaining sage stick in sink to burn out or extinguish in sand.
Follow the same step if you choose to use an option other than sage. Or if you feel you don’t need the support of a tool, skip this step and simply use your intention.
3) Open windows
Although not a requirement, opening a window or door allows the excess smoke and old energy to filter out. It also may prevent your fire alarm from going off! Affirm the release of energies that are no longer for your highest good. Pause for 5-10 minutes as the clearing continues. This is a good time to have a brief meditation while the energy in your space is shifting.
4) Gratitude
Complete your clearing by welcoming in balanced harmonious energy. Let it fill your space. Ground the shift of energy with your intention. Give thanks for your newly energized space.
Just as you clean and organize your full home or office regularly, consider clearing your office space after each appointment or session. Additionally, clear your house after a disagreement or release of negative energy, after feeling ill or anytime you sense heaviness in the environment. Clearing once per season is a good goal for maintenance.
